It was coined in 1933 as Pakstan by Choudhary Rahmat Ali, a Pakistan movement activist, who published it in his pamphlet Now or Never. Lailatul Qadar

Lailatul Qadar, night of reverence, is being observed across country with religious zeal tonight.


The faithful would offer special nightlong prayers to seek forgiveness and Allah Almighty’s blessing on the night. The night is revered in connection with the 27th of Ramazan and to celebrate the revelation of the holy Quran. People will offer Salat-ut-Tasbeeh till late at night while the ulema will throw light on the significance of the night.

The houses, streets and especially mosques have been decorated with illuminations. Special security arrangements have been made for peaceful observance of the night throughout the country.
